Sony Web pages never show any support for this problem. Is there any way to reinstall a corrupt Windows XP, without installing the rest of other softwares?

Sometimes if I am watchin a film it will go back to normal but It’ll soon change again. I have been told it could be down to video drivers but I am not sure, could anyone help me?
No seperate screen appears with numbers, its just the white on the page goes blue.

I spoke to sony and they said I would need to send the computer back to japan to get it sorted, have looked on all the websites, including sony vaio Japan and there are no drivers to download, the ones I tried didn’t work. A friend said I could get a soundcard and it would work, is this right? What alse can I do? Thanks
