A real bargain

This worked immediately with the disk supplied, and it means not having to open up one's machine to install an ethernet card (ie. it saves using another PCI slot). The details suggest it is USB 1, but in fact I think that means 'compliant': it is a USB 2 device and easily handles the speeds downloaded by my fairly low bandwidth broadband. It looks a bit plasticky, but for the price ...
Easy set-up

Received it in a couple of days, plugged it in to my low speed usb port, inserted (supplied) mini-disc (which ran for a few seconds only), connected my ethernet cable to router and connected straight to the internet. Total time taken about 3 minutes. Best £6 I've ever spent.

Simple little item. Saves installing Ethernet port on older PCs. Runs straight away from programme supplied on mini-disc.

Bought this for use with my Linux (Ubuntu Hardy) laptop. Just plugged it in and it worked first time no need for any faffing about.

I had a problem in my computer (operating on Vista) wherein the LAN port refused to connect to the DHCP server and automatically assign a proper working IP address. After testing out different RJ45-USB converters I saw that they worked, and therefore I got this one. It is cheap, easy to install, looks rustic but does the job. For people who need to their LAN in working order I recommend this product. Although it must be stated that the mini-CD provided does not have an autoinstall but there are different folders in the CD which have the required setup files for the necessary operating systems.
